Arkansas Food Safety Resources: Department of Health Offices
To prevent foodborne illness, the Arkansas Department of Health recommends four basic steps:
- Clean: Wash hands and food preparation surfaces frequently.
- Separate: Keep raw meats separate from other foods so no cross-contamination occurs.
- Cook: Cook and reheat food to proper temperatures.
- Chill: Refrigerate foods properly, keeping refrigerator at or below 40 degree F.
